Cooper Walker Place

Johnny Cash Statue Brick Campaign

Hosted by Fundraising Brick

Engraved Brick Order Deadline: December 2018

Bricks are being sold to raise funds for the statue that will be located at the intersection of Cooper and Walker streets in Memphis, TN, which is the site of the former Galloway United Methodist Church. In the basement of the church is a room where Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Two played their first show for a women’s church group. The statue will be created by sculptor Bill Beckwith. The project is a collaboration between organizations and individuals in Memphis who are working to preserve and celebrate Memphis’ role in launching the career of Johnny Cash. These partners include: Cooper Walker Place, Rhodes College, Visible Music College, filmmaker Mike McCarthy, and the Cooper Young Community Association. Thanks you for supporting this important project.

Please direct questions regarding our engraved brick fundraiser to Sam Garrett at sam@madisonlinerecords.com.

Commemorative bricks are laser engraved, which means they last a lifetime as a reminder that you care about a personal achievement or occasion. They’re a great opportunity for any occasion and are sure to make a difference in your community, or honor that special person. Engrave a brick in your name or the name of a loved one; honor a soldier or veteran; honor a firefighter or police officer; in memory of a special person in your life; honor a teacher or student; recognize your school or church; mark a special date in your life (graduation, birthday, baptism, communion, anniversary, or wedding), the possibilities are endless.

Please know how much your decision to support our efforts will mean to the community as a whole and that it will be greatly appreciated. We look forward to your partnership with the efforts of the Cooper Walker Place – Johnny Cash Statue  in our goal with this engraved brick campaign that will be enjoyed for generations to come. The engraved brick courtyard will serve as an inspiration for all who walk through the doors of the Cooper Walker Place – Johnny Cash Statue.
