For 150 years, First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst has stood as a beacon to faithfully shine the light of Christ from our city to the ends of the earth.  Through these years we have worshipped in three sanctuaries. Wherever we have been physically located, we have been united on mission to follow Christ and fulfill the Great Commission.  We have been here in the middle of downtown Hazlehurst, across from the courthouse, at the corner of Frost and Caldwell, for nearly one hundred years now.  We live at this corner of Christ and community, connecting our neighbors and world to Jesus.

As we reflect on days gone by and are challenged by the road ahead, we remain true to the course set before us, making disciples of all the nations.  This 150th Anniversary begins as we proudly proclaim the truth forever etched on our hearts. God is faithful yesterday, today, and forever!

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

Join us as we honor this significant event in the life of our church.  As part of the 150th Celebration, a 150th Anniversary Plaza is being constructed by the bell on the northwest corner of our church site.  This area will feature memorial bricks in a beautifully created area.  You can partner with us in this project by providing a specially designed brick to be placed in this plaza in honor or memory of the person or persons of your choosing.  Each brick is available for a $50 or more donation.

The funds raised by this project will help support the 150th Fund, providing the necessary monies for specific renovations in preparation for this Sesquicentennial Celebration. These bricks may be ordered in the church office or online.
