What is Laser Engraving?

We permanently engrave bricks with our unique laser engraving technologies. What happens in the engraving process is called laser vitrification, or just vitrification for short. The laser directs an intensely hot beam onto the brick’s surface and changes the composition of the clay into a dark, glass-like mark that stands out on the engraved brick or tile. For our customers, this means endless possibilities because we can offer a wider variety of creative ideas by adding clipart, artwork, custom graphics, logos, signatures, depictions and fonts to your custom engraved brick or tile designs.

In addition to the unique design options, laser engraving, sometimes called laser etching, is a much more durable and, in the long run, a much safer method of designing on the brick’s surface. The dark, glossy mark on the brick is permanent and, as a result of the intense laser beam, becomes part of the brick. Nothing is blasted out that would compromise the structure of the brick or cause a safety hazard for anyone walking over your engraved brick. There are no additional epoxy fillers or paint added which can dry out, decompose and fall out of place over time.

Overall, laser engraving on both bricks and tiles produces a more lasting design than sandblasting.  And the ability for the customer to create a unique and meaningful design is virtually endless.
