We are conducting this fundraiser to obtain the down payment on a $1.96 million property in Savannah, GA, that will serve as the headquarters offices for U.S. Women Veterans Advocacy Initiative, Inc., a 501c3 national non-profit charitable organization that advocates and assists women veterans and active duty females, that served, or are still serving, with any type of need. The property will also serve as the first prototype of its kind as the National Women Veterans Residential Healing Sanctuary, which will provide HUDVASH-approved housing for up to 120 single/divorced/widowed women veterans, and women with children, all of which are disabled, no matter what their rating with the VA. There will also be temporary/transitional housing at the Sanctuary for those women veterans who are homeless, or at risk for homeless and need housing, or have issues with domestic violence. All residences will have utilities, cable, and Wi-Fi. We are looking into solar and wind turbine energy opportunities so that the property’s utilities can be self-sustaining within one year. The central community center, which will only be accessible to women veteran members, will have the following amenities: PTSD/MST/mental health counseling; Taco Tuesdays, which is journaling, sun, fun and Mexican food; Computer and Learning Center for Workshops and training sessions; Full Library and training materials; Spa and Wellness Center, which will have Yoga, hair/nails/waxing (and any other treatments we can get in with the help of our sister veterans), massage therapy, acupuncture, mud baths, locker rooms with access to the pool, hot tub, and outdoor lounging areas; craft workshop; art therapy workshop; music therapy workshop; game room; photo/video studio; Huge kitchen; dining facility; healthy eating workshop; terrarium; greenhouse; garden and landscaping club; fitness center; theater; and community areas all around the community center for engaging with other women veterans. Also on the property will be the Chapel and the Parsonage; Bike shelters; walking and biking trails with info/trail signs, solar lights and benches; dock with canoes, fishing, and paddleboats; Equine therapy, horses, barns, stables, etc.; outdoor amphitheater for concerts and outdoor events. We will not know until the property is ours which entrances we will use. We are hoping to get an additional tract of land that is five (5) acres right off I-95. If that happens we will build the entrance off I-95 and that is where the Museum, Fine Art Gallery, “Masterpieces” Gift Shop, Donation Drop-off Center, and Memorial Statue to Women Veterans within the Entrepreneurial Plaza will be, and open to the public. Then a separate, private entrance will take you into the Sanctuary, which will be gated and secure. The entire property will be well secured and watched with security cameras 24/7.
