The Grantsburg Revitalization Operation was formed in 2014 as a group of volunteers to lead and execute the community’s vision for development in the areas of natural resources, housing, downtown beautification, highway 70 development and branding.

At the community visioning sessions led by the Minnesota Design Team and UW-Extension in April 2014, it was apparent there was a community need for additional recreational opportunities for both kids and adults.

While gathering feedback and understanding the needs of the Grantsburg community, GRO decided to enhance the park by the swimming pool by raising funds to create the following amenities: trail with fitness stations for outdoor exercise, a larger playground to also meet the needs of the disabled, and a splashpad to fill the need for swimming options for toddlers as well as increasing the value of daily access fees and memberships to the community pool.
