Monarch is a program of the Community Action Council and is a resource for abused and neglected children and their families in Thurston County, Mason County, and Lewis County. Monarch provides a child-friendly, child-focused environment where children and their families get the help, they need to end abuse and begin the process of healing.  Monarch maintains a strong presence in all three of our service counties with satellite offices. These include Safe and Sound Child Advocacy Center in Mason County and the Youth Advocacy Center in Lewis County. Each year, Monarch serves approximately 800 children, ranging in age from a few weeks through teens, with an average age of 8 years.

Your donation goes directly to one engraved brick and to ongoing Monarch services including counseling, forensic interviews, and community events benefitting Monarch clients and families. In 2023 Monarch Children’s Justice and Advocacy Center has seen a double-digit increase in requests for service since 2020. While the need for these services have never been needed more, there is set to be a 30% reduction in Washington State funding as of July 1st, 2023. Monarch is the most difficult program for our agency to continue to fund, even with a multitude of grants and donations. Fundraisers like this one allow for us to strive to meet the demand of our communities and continue to offer safe, trauma informed care to children and families.
