“Future All-Abilities Baseball Field”

Creating an opportunity for children of ALL abilities to enjoy baseball –
America’s favorite pastime!

Our mission is to promote the need for and raise funds to provide an all abilities baseball facility to serve the children of Ascension Parish with disabilities.  The field and facility will be constructed to ADA Standards and the field will be composed of synthetic turf surfacing placed over a compacted aggregate sub-base.  This will provide a very safe, reliable and impact friendly surface for the children to play. It will allow for wheelchair access and will be easy to maintain by the city of Gonzales.

Presently there is no local field to facilitate the needs of Ascension Parish Children and families. Ascension Parish School system has approximately 2500 students with disabilities, having an all abilities field would allow for consistent exercise and team interaction. The nearest all abilities fields are outside the parish, located in East Baton Rouge and Livingston Parish, both are a considerable distance for families to participate in the programs on a frequent basis.
