The Cerro Gordo Veterans Memorial is a special place dedicated to honoring and remembering people who make a positive impact on the lives of others. It is a place not only for the Cerro Gordo community but for the entire region. It is a place to permanently express our gratitude for the selfless service of those being honored and remembered. Those honored include military veterans and currently serving military personnel.

VETERANS’ MEMORIAL – The Cerro Gordo Veterans Memorial is located in Veterans Park, and is dedicated especially as a Memorial to honor and remember the brave and selfless service of the men and women who serve and have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. Grateful citizens are encouraged to recognize and remember anyone who has served regardless of where they are from or lived. Many will also want to commemorate their own service. The primary goal is to recognize as many people as possible…lest we forget.

The engraved tiles will be installed into their places of honor throughout the year. Purchasers of tiles will be notified when their tile(s) are installed. We anticipate that two significant dates will be especially celebrated at the Memorial; Memorial Day and Veterans Day. To ensure your tile is placed prior to one of those occasions, orders must be placed by March 15 for Memorial Day and September 15 for Veterans Day. Cerro Gordo Village and Foundation personnel will determine the location of wall placement.

THERE IS NO DEADLINE FOR YOUR TILE PURCHASES, BUT IF SUFFICIENT FUNDING BY GENEROUS DONATIONS AND TILE PURCHASES IS RECEIVED TO ENABLE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MEMORAL AND GOUNDS, WE HOPE OUR FIRST SPECIAL OCCASION WILL BE EITHER MEMORIAL DAY 2016 OR VETERANS DAY 2016.

Honor tiles are priced at $100 for an 8” x 8” engraved tile, and $50 for a 4” x 8” engraved tile.
